It's looking good for the Indians, but if they get past Boston... does Colorado have a chance?

The Indians have every single element necessary for a successful baseball team... from the hitting lineup, to the defense, to having two 19 win starting pitchers and a lights out bullpin. But the Rockies are Red Hot, winning 21 of their last 22 games, and have a lot of confidence both in their pitching and batting lineups. In the ALCS the Indians currently hold a 3 to 1 lead over the Red Sox. If the Indians clinch against Boston and move on to the World Series, what are your thoughts on the Indians vs Rockies matchup?!

I love October Baseball!

Personally....I would hope that the Indians win against Colorado. I respect both franshises...but Cleveland has been needing a championship a lot longer than Denver has. The Rockies...while a nice story......are still an expansion franshise and until about 2020 or so...I don't want to see them winning it all....sorry...but I feel like other teams just deserve it first.

(Cubs, Indians, Astros, Phillies, Pirates, Reds, Royals, Brewers, Padres, Giants, Rangers, Nationals, Mariners, Dodgers, A's and O's all should get one before the Rockies if it were up to me..and we all know the Yankees and RedSox don't plan on giving up trying for a championship anytime soon...so if every team on this list got 1 each..then I'd be happy to say...sure Denver deserves a championship...they've had some suffering time to go through, and time to build a 2nd and 3rd generation of adult fanbase like most other teams have).

I know it's not up to me, and Colorado might actually win it all this year......but Cleveland will be a lot tougher since they will have supperior pitching in the rotation and have the offense to back the pitching up in a big way.

If Boston comes back though (and we've all seen that they can do that) and manages to beat Cleveland.....then Colorado to me stands no chance against them. the high air in Denver would only allow for Manny, Mike and David to launch balls out of the park like it was batting practice, and the pitching that Boston has....is built to win in conditions where they are in hitter's parks.

No matter what though....it will be an entertaining World Series.

Colorado is insanely hot right now and Coors Field gives them a big time home field advantage when the games are played there. Plus, they are simply a good ball club. I like the Indians, assuming they win, as they are a well rounded club. But Colorado has a shot and, at worst, will not be a pushover.

Er... the question should read, "Does Cleveland stand a chance against a red hot Rockies' team?"

Colorado has just swept two teams, something Cleveland can't say... The best news thus far... The Rockies will be winning at home!

The problem is that whomever wins the AL is going to have to kill their pitching staff in order to do it ,They will then have to meet a well rested Rockies team -advantage Rockies .

Just for your information the Indians didnt sweep the teams they played because they played the Yankees and the sox. And assuming the Indians make it to the WS i would say its going to be a close battle but i think and hope the clevelands awsome starting pitching will win it for them

One of the laws of physics is what goes up must come down or in other words the pendulum on the clock swings both ways I see how the Rockies swept 2 great teams but Cleveland is more than a great team it has "heart" Don't care who has home field advantage it will be the Indians

Nobody wants to face a red hot team... and regardless of who they face, the Rockies will have the momentum.

I like both Boston and Cleveland's chances vs. Colorado, but it wouldn't shock me one bit if the Rockies rolled on to the championship. One poster said that the Indian's have heart - I'm not doubting that... but if that can't also be said about a Rockies team who had to win an extra game just to get into the post season... well then heart shouldn't matter.

I'm a Red Sox fan and believe the Indians are the better team.
I do think that Boston or Cleveland will have their hands full with the Rockies. Who ever has to play them.

Are the Rockies that hot, or is the NL that bad? No way to tell until Cleveland and Colorado play the games. GO TRIBE !!!

The Tribe should get passed Boston....The Sox pitching is having problems getting passed the 5th inning with out get bang up for a few runs...The Rockies on the other hand are red hot and if the 8 days off doesn't take their momentum away its going to be tough for the tribe to win...

The beauty of baseball: anything can happen. In fact, it eventually does! After 2004 it's hard to imagine the pessimists who say, 'Aw, that'll never happen!" enjoying the Colorado ride. They've made history already. Even if Cleveland sweeps them, they've set a standard. And their stretch of 21 wins in 22 games is already legendary.

Do they have a chance? It's baseball. Why do you ask?

Rockies played the Phillies 89-73 .549
then the Diamondbacks 90-72 .556

Rockies season record is 90-73 .552

Indians played New York 94-68 .580
and now Boston 96 66 .593

Boston played the Angels 94-68 .580
and now Cleveland 96-66 .593

anyone notice a difference, I know those are regular season records but they haven't played anyone nearly as tough as the Redsox and Indians have, plus they have all that time off as well. So I'm going to have to go with the AL whoever it is.
