| What team will Andruw Jones end up with and what will be the contract value and length? The Braves just? |

cut ties with Jones, saying they can't afford him and can you blame them? He made 13.5 million this season and only batted a measley .222 with 26 HR's and 94 RBI's, not the kinda numbers you would expect from a 30 year old who makes that kinda money. And his agent is the very greedy Scott Boras who will look for Jones to get a considerable raise, up near 20 million or at least what Soriano got in Chicago, 18 million a year. This Jones guy is washed up in my mind. Played for the Braves since 1996, good career numbers of 368 HR's and 1,117 RBI's, but who knows, was he roiding? Maybe, Maybe not. This guy DOESN'T DESERVE a raise. He actually deserves less money. I don't see him getting better as time goes on, just declining like Richie Sexson has with the Mariners. Jones looks out of shape to me and looks like he has a bad attitude. I simply don't like him, he's cocky and arrogant. I saw him on MTV cribs and that solidified my views on him. This guy should only get a 5 year contract in my mind, maybe worth $50 million. 10 million per season sounds right to me. If he thinks he deserves 15-20 million, well I'm sorry pal, you deserve nothing. You are from a little island in the Caribbean called Curacao. What would you be doing if you weren't playing baseball for millions of dollars in the USA? Probably washing dishes at a hotel restaurant resort there. Be happy with what you get here buddy. |

I think he'll end up with Texas. They cleared salary by getting rid of Teixiera and will be able to give Jones the money he's after. Texas has proven before they're not afraid to sign a player to a monstrous contract (Kevin Brown, A-Rod). |

maybe the giants cause they are getting rid of barry bonds this season, but the red sox might want him too I think he has a lot of great years left. I'd like to see him on the Yanks, but at no more than the 13.5 he made last season (say for 3 or 4 yrs). Scott Boras will be a huge obstacle. Teams like the Giants and the Rangers will go after him this off season. The Braves did the right thing by not resigning him for the price that he wants ($15-20M per year range). For a contract year, he did awful. With Scott Boras as an agent, he will somehow get a lucrative contract by a MLB team, just like Barry Zito did last season. Yankeesssssssssssssssssss too much money in the Bank Scott Boras will try to get the Yankees and Red Sox interested to drive the $$$ up, then somebody like Texas will get him. I don't think he stays in the NL. |
