I think it's possibly the worst practice by fans in sports, the wave is a close second. It's annoying and ridiculous. The fact of the matter is: the other team still scores and you just lost a souvenier that you coulda kept or sold.

Stupid to do that unless you are at Wrigley. I caught a ball a few years back during a White Sox game, and had to let the drunk next to me know - this is not Wrigley. It is a Cubs tradition! And I kept it.

Yeah they were. One lady kept Ortiz's ball and sold it to a Sox fan sitting near her for like, $20. Lol.
