Question for baseball players?

This past year i played baseball for my senior season. I've played all four years and to tell you the truth i actually was pretty good. I've usually batted at the bottom of the lineup, but this spring was leadoff the whole season. I led the team in batting average (bout .350) and runs scored. Defensively I got the defensive award for the team at the end of the season. I only made three errors over the course of about 30 games and for our team that was pretty DAMN good. So you get the point that I wasn't bad.

BUT, there were 2 3-4 day stretches where everything felt alright, nothing hurt but my arm was WAY off when i threw, nothing looked right and i was missing my target by bout7 or 8 feet. I never played in a game during these times, just practice and i asked my way out of a lineup once too. I seriously looked like i had never thrown a baseball before, but what got me was that nothing felt wrong..it just looked really wrong. I was just wonderin if ne of have herd of this?

I was just thinkin about Mark Prior and Kerry Wood and their injuries and got to thinkin about this and i never found out what was wrong this spring. But I really want every1 2 know that i had a good arm other than these little stints.

I've had that happen before. Actually just a few months ago I think it was. Luckily, it wasn't too much into the games yet. What I figure it is for you is that you changed something in your throw that you didn't mean to do. All you have to do is just keep throwing. Don't throw until your arm hurts-that does more harm than good, but just get a target and throw. Eventually, your real throw will come back or you will get used to your new throwing mechanics. It's really annoying for both you and whoever your playing catch with that has to try to catch those completely unaccurate balls, but just keep practicing.

I'm not saying your horrible-you actually sound like a decent player I just understand from previous experience how frustrating it is!

It could be something with your rotator cuff, located by your sholder. It could also be your elbow. The best thing to do is see a doc.
GO CUbs!

It could just be momentary lapses in mechanics. And now that you are thinking about it and creating anxiety for yourself it could continue. I'd say, go back to basics and "practice" throwing. Throwing is a skill that is sometimes overlooked in position players, but just like your swing it should be worked on and refined on a regular basis.

nope that sounds too confusing
