Is there a site with all the batting orders? A link would be appreciated. |

The batting order is set up so the best players are generally at the top of lineup and will get more at bats during the season then the guys at the bottom. More specifically, the lead off guy is usually a guy who can get on base (via hit or walk) and have good speed to steal a base. The #2 hitter is usually a good contact hitter. The #3 guy is usually (not always) the best hitter on a team who can hit for average, draw a walk, or hit for power. The #4 or "cleanup" hitter is usually (not always) the best home run hitter on the team, and then #5 through #9 (pitcher in N.L) are slotted generally from best to worst. |

It's called a box score. I am a little confused with what your question is asking? Are you looking for specific teams batting orders for that day? If so, just go to www.mlb.com and click scores then box score. That will give you the line up. A batting order for who? Every team has a differant order depanding on things such as who's pitching, who's in a hot streak, who needs a rest. Try reading the box scores in the paper every day. mlb.comm |
