Japanese baseball - pitcher bats?

In Japanese baseball, do they have the pitcher bat (as in the NL), or do they use a designated hitter (like the AL)? Just curious. Thank you!

There are twelve Japanese teams divided into two leagues. The Central League contains most of the older and more popular teams. The Pacific League uses the designated hitter. While the CL is considered higher-status, the PL often showcases better players and a more dynamic style of play.

sorry, i dont worry about japanese baseball... i worry about AMERICAN baseball....
