| Should you use your new softball bat in the batting cages? Or just use it in games with the real balls?? |

So if I have what effects good it cause. I hit over 200 balls on it through the cages. No dents or cracks. |

Bob, you definitely shouldn't use your good softball bat in the cages. For one, some cages don't use REAL softballs. For another, if the cage is hot, and you start sweating, your hands can sweat and the bat can slip our of your hands and it can get scratched up when it hits the pavement. Finally, just because you don't see knicks or cuts in the bat, DOESN'T mean the bat hasn't been compromised by using it so much in the cages. The more times a bat makes impact with the ball, the more wear and tear you are putting on it. Why take any chances? Use a less valuable bat or a bat provided by the cages for your 200 practice swings, and save your "Gamer" for live competition. |

Why wouldn't you want to use it in the cages? If it is new you are going to want all the practice you can get with it. You'll want to accustome yourself to the feel of the new weight and length before you take it in a game situation and find that your swing is off with the new feel. use it in the batting cages, get used to it so you can adjust if the weight is to much or to little, then you'll be ready for the real thing use a different bat with the same dimensions. don't waste your pop at the cages. those yellow rubber balls that come in the cages ruin bats.. thats why cages offer bats... use a different bat with the same dimensions i take it that it is a mens league that you play in. i wouldnt. the balls are a lot harder than what is used in games. plus if it gets cracked or dented the maker wont take it back. they can tell. what we do is get a couple of guys together and take turns, pitching and hitting. NOOOOOOOOO Not at all inless it's a new cheap Wal~Mart bat but if you have like a new Catalyst X1 don't you dare I swear it will tear up your bat! |
