| Give the kid my fly ball at a baseball game? Are you kidding me ? |

If this once and a lifetime chance presents itself the next time I go to a MLB game ... do u honestly think I'd simply give away my fly ball to the nearest kid because it's the "right" thing to do? In a word...NO! I paid good money for these seats ...paid good money for the food and drinks ..so as a hard working adult .. I feel I'm entitled to something free in life . Like I said .. i'm not opposed to knocking a kid down to the ground in my pursuit of snagging this fly ball ...OR...slapping the ball out of his hand A-Rod style ..or a kung fu chop to knock it out of the kids' hand . |

I certainly hope you are about 12, otherwise you are extremely pathetic. Really knocking over a kid to get a baseball. If i ever saw you do something like that i would whoop you, after the game obviously. |

i totally agree with you. You can spend your whole life trying to get a flyball, you need to keep that hard earned souvenir. when lil jimmy grows up he too will have his chances to catch flyballs. F*** little jimmy Sure, it's a thrill to catch a ball at a big league game. It's why I always bring my glove. But I have a lot of balls at home. Unless the one I catch is some special record-setting ball, my thrill is over as soon as I catch it. But I can give some little kid a thrill just by handing it over, and that'll keep me feeling good longer than the ball would. If you caught the ball fair and square keep it. If, as it sounds by your fourth paragraph, you knocked the kid down, give him the ball and SHAME ON YOU! Yeah I definatley would keep the first fly ball I ever caught. After that, I might be willing to donate it to a little kid. What I would not do however is to "steal" a ball from a little kid like that fat slob did a few years ago in Texas when he dove into the row under him trampling a little kid to get to a ball. I was able to watch the Indians have batting practice before a game last year. A ball was hit to where we were all at. It bounced off of the guy next to me, who had his son there, and fell to me. I was stoked but the son started crying because they almost caught the ball. Well, I felt bad for a second, because I am also a father and the dad gave me a look like give me a break and give the ball to my son. I thought about it and then walked away and got a beer. I got what I wanted. If he wanted his son to have the ball so badly, he would've caught it. I don't think you have to give little Jimmy a ball if you caught it but knocking a kid down and shoving him ??? Get your priorities straight ! No responsible adult would hurt a child over a baseball. I agree with you 100%. Little Jimmy has got a lifetime of chances to catch a ball at a MLB game. I've never come close and have been to atleast 70 games. I caught a fly ball at a game 20 years ago and gave it to a young boy seated a few rows in front of me.It was only a base ball to me and made the boys evening. lol! I got a foul ball at a Cubs game one time. The couple sitting next to me asked if they could show the ball to their son. Of course, I said yes. I have always looked back at that moment and thought...should I have let their son have the ball? Well, if catching a fly ball at a baseball game is really a "once in a lifetime chance" to you, then by all means keep the ball. In my lifetime, I caught about 20 batting practice balls and about 5 or 6 balls during the game. It's really not that big a deal. Like someone mentioned earlier, the thrill is catching the ball, not keeping the ball. This says a lot about your childhood. Knock a kid over? What is wrong with you? And what does paying good money for food and seats have to do with a ball? Little Jimmy's parents paid good money dor the food and seats too! No, you should never knock a child over. You could get in trouble- DISORDERLY CONDUCT, son. HaHa love it, If i get a ball Jimmy ain't getting it. You said what i've wanted to just haven't. Getting good seats nowadays is expencive a soda's like 4bucks a beers like 6 so yeah keep the free ball if you get it. Where did this pseudo rule come from anyways? It's cool to be nice to people but you don't always have to give up your enjoyment to please someone else So I say screw Jimmy and his dad. I agree. You cant fight a kid over a ball though. About, two weeks I was sitting on the 3rd base side of Dolphin Stadium. Miguel Cabrera hit a foul ball and I must of timed my leap and caught the ball. I turned around and a kid had a glove in his hand. He would've caught the ball If I hadn't jumped. Everyone was screaming give the kid the ball. I didn't!! i got a foul ball at a minor leauge game when i was 7 and the adult next to me was mad he didnt get it How tall are you that this is even an issue? You shouldn't need to push a kid outta the way to get a foul ball...just reach over his head and grab it. I ONCE CAUGHT 3 BALLS AT 1 GAME IN MONTREALS JARRY PARK.IT WAS MY MONTREAL EXPOS PLAYING THE PITTS. PIRATES. Wow you are really pathetic and if you are actually an adult you certainly aren't acting like it. . . . the fact that you would do that to a child is disgusting. i'm 18 and have caught balls at games i've been to and gave them all to little children and they were absolutely thrilled! Made their day more than mine. . . I was perfectly content in just being at the game watching my favorite team play my favorite game. Shows what kind of person you actually are. You would rather catch a baseball than worry about the safety of a child. disgusting |
