What camps or companies will get my son (18) noticed this summer by baseball scouts? We live in Illinois.?

We are hoping for scholarship help. He is a very good player, but plays on a bad high school team. He won't get noticed there.

This won't help for colleges...but if he is good enough for pro ball, check out http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/official_info/abo...
The camps for 2007 haven't been updated from the MLB Scouting Bureau, but teams are beginning to hold tryouts down in AZ and FL.
The best way to prove himself is to go to a college and walk on (doesn't matter is it is a 4 year or JC). Either way, arrange to meet with the coach, and bring videos and verified stats that show your son's performance in detail. Sometimes, the coaches haven't given away all their scholarships yet...but the complete scholarships are goners by now. Good luck.

Unless he's head and shoulders better than all of the other players on his bad HS team, no scouts would pay attention to a player from Illinois, therefore he has no shot at any scholarship. Take a trip to Florida, where HS baseball is broadcast over the radio, and watch the teenagers there play ball and you will see that the scouts have plenty to choose from in that state alone. Sorry to break it to you, but kids from the warm weather states have a insurmountable advantage over your son from Illinois

Perfect Game is the most recognized and most respected recruiting program. Unfortunately it can be very expensive and there is a lot of traveling involved. Perfect Game is associated with the Aflac All-American game for high school players. The web site is www.perfectgame.org.

Sorry, but you have little hope. Scouts know the good players, and there are just a handfull of great players from each county. He should submit a video of his playing to some junior college coaches. Maybe Joliet, COD, Moraine Valley.. then hope for the best. Also tell him to tryout for the Northern League teams (Joliet, Gary, Schaumburg). If they like him, they will help. If not, tell him it is over, and concentrate on being a good student instead.

ive seen your kid play he sucks at everything he does
aww is he having trouble
