A friend of mine is a pitcher on our high schools varsity baseball team. Recently he got invited to a scouting camp or something. I was wondering what a camp like that does. Is that a big deal to get invited to one of these? Is it a rele good/big oppurtunity and achievment? I just want any info b/c I want to know what he's talking about!?! Thanks.

It is called different things in different areas in the country. What it is...a camp for pitchers who are the best pitchers in your local area. They bring in the top pitchers in the area to help get noticed by scouts and they usually have some pitching experts on hand to give them pointers. So, the pitchers get some tips on improving their pitching motion and style, and they get visibility all being at one location by scouts who attend to weigh their talent. You have to be one of the better pitchers in your area to get invited so its an honor. Does is mean he one of the best in the country and will be pitching professionally someday, no, not at all. But, it is nice to be the one of the bast in your local area. Hope this help....
