i mean they have a yankees special traian.they are most famous in baseball.they have caps,hats,and jerseys to give them courage in the stadiam.and they are plannning to build another one. why,they do not need it at all.the way i think it is wasting MONEY.

The Yankees are only important to their fans. They're just another team to everyone else.

And plenty of cities spend too much money on new stadiums. With the exception of San Francisco's AT&T Park, all new stadiums were subsidized with public funds.

The Yankees are the only teem in all of Baseball that pulls a profit each year, they are the most successful franchise in any sport ever, winning about 1 in ever 4 world series ever played, and they are the only baseball team who is world know by name

I don't think they are at all important. They're a love 'em or hate 'em team. I personally fall into the latter category without apology. I think they're overrated. I certainly hope their ego trip is cut short today.

They've always been the only American League team in New York, which is by far the largest city in the country. They have a history of excellence, having the best teams and players. They still have Yankee Stadium, which is a huge monument to some. I personally think it has been stripped of whatever character it used to have when they remodelled it in the 60s/70s and wouldn't mind seeing them rebuild the damn thing, but I understand why people hold it in such high regard. I could see how anyone would dislike Steinbrenner, but there is no doubt that he is the best owner in baseball.

They are only important because of there history. They have 26 World championships no one is near that.

They are not important, only to yankee fans they are.
