| Parity in baseball? |

Isn't about time for salary caps and revenue sharing? |
|
Should they...yes. Will they ...no. |

They have revenue sharing right now; the luxury tax goes to teams like Pittsburgh, KC, Tampa and Florida who pocket it and then trade away talent! If you look at the playoff participants the past 7 years there is more parity than you think...only the yankees keep making the playoffs year in and year out! They have revenue sharing already and teams with big payrolls like the Yankees, Redsox, and Cubs, dish out big time money to bad teams that can't get fans into the seats, see Tampa Bay, Kansas City, Pittsburg, etc. You need teams like the Yankees and the Redsox too do well. They carry the MLB with their huge fan bases and high T.V. ratings. Plus there has been great parity on the field. Who cares what it looks like on paper. Arizona killed the Cubs, Cleveland beat down the Yankees. Two small market teams with low payrolls beating two high payroll teams. Baseball has been better than ever. The last two weeks of the regular season was the most exciting in a long time. Heres a link that will give you a good idea about how much is spent on sharing http://www.boston.com/sports/baseball/re... |
