i agree..bonds is very talented..if anyones to blame for him getting homers its the pitches of their opposite team. Shut up seriously your starting to make me mad...Bonds is a fuucking cheater I hope everyone just hits him with pitches in the head for now on.
How the hell can you like that guy?...go die and burn in hell ALEX!!!!
ALEX!!!!
ALEX!!!!
ALEX!!!!
ALEX!!!!
ALEX!!!! I agree. Bonds is pretty great no matter how you try to spin it. If you blame steroids for his great production then since they were rampant in baseball it was a pretty even playing field since pitchers were on them. Can't have your cake and eat it too.
GO BARRY! listen you have a nice asss
id do horrible things to it
but u need to close your trap because im gettin pissed
so go to San Fran, let Bonds put it in your assss, and be done with it Your crazy,,
Barry was great but not 70 homer great. Steroids help your muscle tissue recover and regenerate faster. Thus no fatigue. Bonds never hit over 40 before the roids because he like everyone not doing roids goes through a downtime or slump in the season. If your on roids your muscles never get tired thus allowing you to hit them at greater rates. He was a hall of famer for sure,, but not the dominating walk machine he was in his juice prime.
He would not have been as great as he is without roids.. BONDS=JOKE We all cheat some point in our lives...it's all good! Barry had all the natural talent in the world to be a great player. When Barry played for the Pirates he looked nothing like he does now. He was much smaller and relied more on speed and good coordination for hitting and fielding. As he aged the speed went away and he had to find a new ways to play at the same high level. Now he is bigger as most 40+ yr olds are but its not fat. Its muscle and that isn't normal. His game changed to being a power hitter in his late 30s.
Steroids wont make players hit or catch better. They will allow them to hit farther and run faster though. They allow you to recover faster from working out so you can work out more often. He DIDN'T hit home runs before he started using steroids. He's a great player but he gained 90 pounds over the years and is doing things no one at his age could do. Stop the denial. I also hate that african American men are like lemmings blindly backing him up just because he's black. Why dont' you back up Mark McGwire?
Bonds is not good for baseball; he's good for the Giants but no one else.
To say that we should blame pitchers for not knowing how to throw to him? If you notice in the past, when I went and saw his home runs they were clearing the fences by 50-60 feet; he'd hit the water every week. Now he rarely does if ever. To see him hit one out with barely any contact was scary. I'll never forget when Duane Kuiper called one of his homeruns and said "lazy fly ball to right, back goes Gonzalez, back more, and more, its in the water!" He got fooled because he looked at the contact that was made. Bonds was so juiced up.
The problem I have with all of this is that even though hes a jerk to media, teammates, and anyone that questions him, is that baseball doesn't take responsibility. The commish, players union, owners, and players, KNEW there was a HUGE steroids problem. Now Bonds is taking the blame because of the record. EVERYONE in baseball is dirty from steroids. EVERYONE! Read the article below, then tell me it's the pitchers fault.
The bottom line is that Bonds' body has done things that no one else's body has done without chemical help. He packed on more muscle and increased his bat speed at times when all other great hitters of every era saw the opposite effect.
Physics is physics. Increased bat speed = increased hitting distance. If "nutrition and exercise" helped Bonds that much, then someone would have bottled that formula and sold it at GMC and made a fortune. Unless, of course, it was illegal. your a genius shut all those people up on here who dont know baseball but ya bonds was a hall of famer before he supposedly took steriods. and the pitchers were all on steroids in that era too so it gos both ways. and everyone who actually knows baseball will admit hes a great player and steroids dont give you talent and hand eye cordination etc. so ya 756 here we come!!! Out of all the other that have taken steroids how many of them also have 700+ HR's? O, none, not a single person. He has talent steroids or not. yeah bonds was a great player..so ppl just act ignorant.. Not sure if you are suggesting that Barry didn't take steroids (because if so, even Barry disagrees with you) or you are trying to minimalize steroids effect on someone.
Here's the thing about the last point. If steroids didn't help someone SIGNIFICANTLY, they wouldn't do it.
If you found a loophole to get around the IRS, but it would only save you a $1 and if you are caught, you spend a year in jail, you don't do it.
If that loop hole can get you a million dollars, then you 'may' take the risk at the chance of not getting caught.
It's about risk/reward. No way does Bonds do steroids and affects his body for the rest of his life unless it's providing him significant reward for his risk.
Unless you have personally done a poll about the players, I would think that most people don't respect him. They may publicly be supportive, it's the union way, but I don't think they would show him the support, not because of steroids, but because of his deficient personality.
However, your strong support of Bonds probably indicates that you too would cheat in his shoes and probably do something unethical in your every day life.
Good job. Forget the people that work hard for soemthing, if you could cheat your way through life, I think you should. i totaly agree with you. You still have to be skilled to hit home runs. it's not all about the power. What...uh...is this even English? Seriously, get your grammar in order man. This is almost uncomprehendable.
Anyway, some of what you attempt to say is true. A lot of it is flawed though. Why do you think Bonds walks so much? Gee, it couldn't be because in his mid 30's he started having 45+ homerun seasons, could it? His highest walk total for a season (to that point) came during that 73 homerun year, when he had 177 walks. The next year he had 198. His highest ever was 232 walks when he was how old? Oh yeah. 39! 39 years old! That's ridiculous. And don't tell me that steroids don't give you a boost. You have to be completely ignorant to disregard history. Even the greatest sluggers in baseball wore down as they got older. Willie Mays had 28 homeruns at age 39. Willie McCovey had 28 at age 39 also. Even Babe Ruth had 22 homeruns at age 39. How many did Bonds hit at age 39? 45! If you can hit the ball, then steroids will give it the extra push. They don't MAKE you hit the ball. They help with everything after contact though. They allow you to workout longer, which builds more muscle mass. They give you more energy than you know what to do with. They give you an edge, no doubt about it.
Just because Barry will not admit to taking steroids is no reason for the general public to drop it and join his fan club again. He's the 2000 lb. gorilla in the room that only you and much of San Fran don't see.
And did you just say Bonds is GOOD for baseball? Wow. You were brave to post this. How can you even defend that? How can you ignore the thousands of articles that have been written specifically about Bonds and how he's draining the league of not only credibility, but dignity as well? How can you ignore the fact that several books (books!) have been written about this very topic, with Bonds being a main character in each of them? Oh, er, duh. That's right. You can't because they're already out there. If you're going to make a statement as foolish as that, you'd better back it up.
P.S. You are quite the oxymoron. "Bonds is respected by MOST, and hated by MOST." You can't hate somebody you respect. I got to agree with you KrunkNess, steroids are illegal drugs that doesn't agree with society today and maybe never. Barry Bonds still have swing the bat , catch and perform to best of his God given ability period. Steroids are not accepted by society and darkened Bond's career.
