MLB slugger batting posture or special batting habit?

1. David Ortiz (He spits on his gloves and then clap)
2. Derek Jeter (He chases the ball with check swing)
3. Gary Sheffield (He waves his bat back and forth very quickly.)
4. Norma Garciappla (He's got a restless toes.)
5. Ichiro Suzuki (He pulls his right sleeve before hitting.)
6. Barry Bonds (He swing and watch the homer ball flying over the wall.)

Who else?

Coco Crisp times his swing by "bouncing" the bat while waiting for the pitch

They're all superstitious.

Kevin Millar does the Sheffield wave; that's who he learned it form!

Barry bonds....just look at that swing. It remind of Mr.Strawberry and his golf swing just a bit...tom science

Albert Pujols (he squats like he's taking a crap)

wat o

craig counsell stands almost straight up with his arms full extended with the bat over the head..

jeff bagwell actually has such a wide stance when he starts, when the pitch is coming and he takes his step his front foot goes backward! ive never seen anything like it.

Manny Ramirez (shrigs his shoulders forward before hitting)
Coco Crisp (twitches his fingers wierdly while in the box)
Jim Thome(Stands and points his bat at no one in particular until the pitcher goes from wind up to ball in glove.)
Me (I tap both shoes with my bat,I tap the plate in a cross 3 times, then I hit the catcher with the bat...cause confusion for the pitcher, then I swing at the umpire as he tries to throw me out. Then Don zimmer runs at me and i throw him to the ground as i sidetep him, ala Pedro Martinez. Then I moon the fans...because they boo me.

7. Ivan Rodriguez ( blesses himself before every pitch/ at bat)

Rickey Weeks-same as sheffield
Jeff Bagwell- looks like hes sitting in a chair

Just repetition and habit.

Chipper Jones has the toe tap to get his timeing just right

You forgot to mention that Nomar does that crazy thing where he tugs on each batting glove, then tightens each batting glove, then positions his armband perfectly, then steps in and does that weird toe thing while swinging the bat. Manny Ramirez also pinwheels the bat before cocking it back before the first pitch. And the Pujols "squat" as it is called is merely because he has his feet set SO far apart.

The only other one I could think of is Hideki Matsui, who looks back at the bat before he sets his feet to make sure that the bat is pointed the way he wants it (he wants the bat's logo positioned a certain way). This often gets mistaken for him attempting to steal signs but he has said he simply feels more comfortable when the logo is facing outward.
