Larkin last played in 2004, so he isn't eligible until the 2010 ballot (five years, plus the incidental turn of the calendar).

I'd vote for him.

Retiring numbers is up to the team organization, unless MLB mandates it league-wide (done only once, and probably never again).

He should be in the Hall of Fame. However, he won't be eligible until 2009 or 2010. He should also have his #11 retired by the Reds.

He's got a pretty good shot at making it because he started playing long before most of the other offensive elite at the shortstop position. I don't think he'll be first ballot by any means, but give him a few years and I think he'll be in there.

I think he will. He was right there with Ripken and Ozzie. I think he will be eligible to be voted in around 2010.
