| Should Rafael Palmeiro be kept out of the Hall of Fame? |
I know he lied to Congress which was horrible and used for a short period time. |
I think the guy should be in. He didn't use his entire career. |
He shouldn't get in if Sammy Sosa and Mark Mcguire don't get in Why would anyone who cheats be rewarded for their deeds? He's no better than Barry "Steroid" Bonds. None of these guys should ever be allowed into the Hall of Fame! I don't know I'd put a question mark next to him. He's not as bad as McGurie but lying,I don't know I'd have to give it a long hard thought. No, he CHEATED. thats what i was going say until its proven that sosa and bonds took roids and not just the usual proof that look at them now and when they strated thing. actualy real proof. i believe sosa and bonds havnt took them until proof come up. he's got hall of fame numbers, but if baseball wants to send a true statement about cheating in the sport they need to make him ineligible for induction...if pete rose, clearly a hall of fame player, is outlawed for doing something which did not affect the outcome of any game he managed in, how can you allow someone who possibly altered the outcome of a number of games and lied to congress about it to be admitted? it's not even about his numbers, if baseball didn't have a steroid problem i'd be all for his induction even with the positive test because we don't know how many pitchers he faced are on steroids and how long he took them for...however, baseball needs to send a message to its players right now about where cheating will get them I say no because in twenty years, he'll be remembered more for steroids and lying than anything he accomplished on the field. Palmeiro was never during season one of the game's premiere players. He was a stat compiler who was never the best player on his own team. During his career he played second banana to Juan Gone, Robby Alomar, Pudge, A-Rod, and Tejada. If it were all about stats, he'd be in, but to me cheating loses points (without automatically disqualifying a guy). I think the steroid era only has four hall of famers who if you only count the guys who probably didn't use steroids. Those four are Griffey, Maddux, Jeter and Glavine. Craig Biggio is borderline, and I have doubts about Pedro, Clemens, Unit, A-Rod, Pudge, Thomas, Giambi, Alomar, Helton, Walker, Sosa, Tejada, and of course Bonds. For me he's in if he was clean, but loses enough points to be shut out because dishonor and lack of integrity. Steroids were part of the game's history, so if the guy stood out in his era, I'd put him in. Raffy didn't. NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He deserves it he broke the record he claims the prize! and by the way ORIOLES RULE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NO not only did he cheat he lied to America First off, besides the government, who cares if he lied to Congress. I sure don't, because politics doesn't belong in sports. With that said, no I don't think he should be in the Hall of Fame. Yes, he has the numbers, and nobody with 500 HRs, and 3,000 hits has been kept out, but after 1991 he was mostly a DH. I just don't think a DH should be in. i hate to say it but yea. |
