yeah he is the man, too bad he couldnt pitch everyday. then we would be playing tomorrow night. I heard today that he is thinking about coming back to Houston and Posada is going with him. the only MLB pitcher since 1930 to win at least 12 games in each of his first 9 seasons), clutch in the postseason (second to only John Smoltz in postseason wins) and has 4 world series rings.......Pettitte is the man, not even the haters can disagree with that I'm not a yankee, but yankee fans should love him. He is better than Wang and he is a dominant left handed pitcher. Of course! yea he is a great pitcher but remember he left the Yankees to fallow his so called buddy Roger the old man Clemens. Of course they do. He is an Italian Guido like the whole crowd at Yankee Stadium, with the exception of gay Bon Jovi. Yeah- Pettite is one of the top lefties ever in terms of win%, 10+ win seasons, second-half wins, and of course playoff wins. The great thing about him besides his intensity is the way he's matured and adapted as a pitcher. When he was younger, he relied more on a sinking and cut-fastball in the low-90's and his curve. When Clemens came to NY, he worked out with Andy, who built up his leg strength and had him hitting 93-95 on the gun. Now that he's older and recovered from injury, he has changed to more cutters, sliders, and locating his pitches to make up for the loss of speed. If he re-signs in NY, he has a legitimate shot at 250 wins and a spot in Cooperstown. |
