Yeah- Pettite is one of the top lefties ever in terms of win%, 10+ win seasons, second-half wins, and of course playoff wins. The great thing about him besides his intensity is the way he's matured and adapted as a pitcher. When he was younger, he relied more on a sinking and cut-fastball in the low-90's and his curve. When Clemens came to NY, he worked out with Andy, who built up his leg strength and had him hitting 93-95 on the gun. Now that he's older and recovered from injury, he has changed to more cutters, sliders, and locating his pitches to make up for the loss of speed. If he re-signs in NY, he has a legitimate shot at 250 wins and a spot in Cooperstown.
