| Who do you think should be inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame but isn't? |
My pick: Gil Hodges |
Pete Rose. |
Roberto Clemente Don Mattingly Pete Rose, simply based on accomplishments, not on the betting thing. In fact, on his plaque, there should be a large statement about what he did with the betting - similar to the large statement that may be on Barry Bonds' plaque and possibly even Mark McGwire's plaque. Ted Simmons, Catcher Jim Rice Clemente is in the HOF. The following players should be in the HOF. jim rice I definately agree that Pete Rose should be inducted. He should NEVER be allowed to manage a team ever again. His plaque should talk about his past. Saying that, he is MLB's all time hits leader. He didn't use steroids and he didn't lose on purpose. He played his heart out every game. Pete Rose. Old Petey. It doesnt matter if he bet on baseball to me. He has the most hits ever. And dont tell me Babe Ruth and those cronies werent betting on BB. They just didnt get caught. Ron Santo and Bert Blyleven are the first ones I'd include. I agree! The Dodgers from the 50's and 60's were awesome and Hodges does deserve to be in Hall of Fame! Also Ron Santo of the Cubs Pete Rose Roger Maris The "HAWK" Andre Dawson. rose- his actions that kept him out happened when he was a manager not a player. don't induct him as a manager, but as a player yes. Hodges is not a bad pick. Pete Rose Pete Rose. I agree with Gil Hodges. That would be a good pick. I would also add Pete Rose, Jim Rice, Goose Gossage, Fred Lynn and George Foster. Lynn and Foster were so overlooked during their time, because of the higher profile players of their day. They were both all-stars and MVPs. I know this doesn't always qualify a player for the HOF, but they both played important parts for their respective teams and they put up big numbers too. I would love to say Pete Rose and Joe Jackson, but that would be the easy way out. Therefore, I鈥檓 going to say Lefty O鈥橠oul. Only player not banned from baseball with a career batting average in MLB over .345 (his is .349), with mim of 3000 At-Bats not in the Hall of Fame. Pete Rose Pete Rose - all time hits king, hustled like no one else I couldn't agree with you more. I've been a big advocate of Gil Hodges for years. He numbers are worthy of the Hall but more than that Gil was an outstanding human being. He gave so much back to his community while in Brooklyn as well as LA. He was a major factor in the human rights movement as well. Bert Blyleven Pete Rose ron santo Clearly this is just an opinion-related question but in my book no Baseball Hall of Fame is complete without first: THURMAN MUNSON-yes Pudge Fisk he was BETTER than you, second Jim Rice, third Bert Blyleven and then Gil Hodges (love ya BROOKLYN Dodgers). Jim Rice - one of the most feared hitters for about 10 years. |
