...we get rid of the GLOVES in the OUTFIELD only. Why do guys need football field-sized gloves to catch one small ball. Man up and use bare-hands, so that the next time there is a pop-up, we'll ACTUALLY care about the outcome.

*And don't tell me it "hurts," I've seen people in a game called "CRICKET" do it bare handed, and they use a similar hard-ball.

I think that would make it less interesting...think of all the great diving catches that we have seen this year alone...most (if not all) of those would be gone...this is a stupid idea in my opinion. I think the fielding right now is exciting! Check out some catches by Coco Crisp and you will see what I mean.

yeah i know what you mean. i used to play cricket myself and it was always more interesting where someone is going to catch the ball or not.but baseball is a sport on its own and it has its little thing like the glove and that is what makes the sport unique

Does the ball in cricket reach speeds of 90 mph? Ever catch a hardball at that speed - even with a glove??? Ever get hit in the nose with one???? Yes - they HURT!

I would watch the game if that happened. But not for any other reason than to see the players whine like little girls when they catch a ball.

Go back to the cricket board, then, mate. We love the tenderness this sport brings.
