How to break a new glove in?

i got a new baseball fielding glove and i cant break it in i already tried oiling it, baking it, and using it, and its still not broke in...

Since you tried the others, try beating it with a baseball bat. Seriously, it will break down some of the stiffness. Then you can put a couple of baseballs in the pocket and palm, then tie it up a put in a bucket of water. Let it soak for a while, then take it out and let it dry, still tied up. It should form a nice pocket for you. Then oil it to keep it nice condition. This is just one idea. I'm sure others have their own. Hope this helps.

What works for me is a fair amount of oil, then you put in a softball, wrap it in rubber-bands, then put it under your mattress for a day.

JoMo

Get some Foaming Shaving Cream and rub it in all over the glove then put a ball in it and fold it over and set it under your matress and sleep on it for a couple days. That's how I've always done it. Works great!

put a base ball in it and wrap a rubber band around it. Or put it on the ground and slowly run it over with a car.

I found that simply using it often will break it in, and it doesn't require as much thought as the other methods.

If you live around an MC Sports or Dick's Sporting goods, go pick up a can of what is call glove heat treatment... I bought a brand new glove applied the treatment once and it feels like ive had the glove for years. I believe it was 8 bucks and some odd change for tax

Lots of oil and messaging it in and having it on your hand breaking it in.

You need to break in a glove over time...a month or so. You can start by folding it from the top to form a pocket. Then Use a softball not a baseball because the leather is going to shrink over time then wrap it up with a rubber band. Don't use Any foam or anything it will damage the glove if it ever gets wet.

put a baseball or softball in it and tie a rope around it all night or all day and night and if that doesnt work just keep using it untill it does break in

The BEST way to brak on a glove is to oil the INSIDE and play alot of catch with it. Use it to warm up, shag during BP. This allow the glove to form to your hand.

id say that putting a ball in it and rolling the car over it actually doesnt help as much as youd think but it does help! i found this foam that doesnt damage the leather and all you do is spray it in the pocket, put the ball in there, rubberband it, and bake it! and ya that thatll definately give you a good start to breaking it in. i think you should just try that, the car thing, and definately just playing catch with it and stuff...i wouldnt put in water though that sounds like itll ruin the leather. but i broke mine in within a few days after i used the foam, the car, and playing catch with it

just a tip - make sure the when you close the mitt (without a ball in it) the upper tips of the mitt line of correctly - baseball mitt's fingers should not be parallel or folded evenly
