Glove break-in?

any good ways to break in a glove fast and reliable

1.Fill a sink with hot water, put the glove in until it stops bubbling.
2. Stretch and tug the glove in every direction, turn it inside out, put it back the right way manipulate it some more.
3.Fold the glove along the hinge where you want the break to be and pound it down with a bat or a rubber mallet.
4. Slam a ball into it until your tired. Or use the end of a bat.
5. Stretch and tug some more, then wipe it down with a towel.
6. Form the pocket as you desire, put a ball in it and wrap it in the towel and tie it closed.
7. Let it air dry until slightly cool to the touch. Unwrap it.
8. Manipulate it some more, and open up the inside of the fingers with a broom handle.
9. Play catch
10. When completely dry lubricate it with a lanolin based treatment (Rawlings makes a good one, or Glove Loogie if you can get it which has Lanolin and Neatsfoot in it).
11. It should be usable now. Keep it clean, dirt is like sandpaper, and put a ball in the pocket when you're done with it.
12. Don't over lubricate it.

Gloves that are supposed to be "game ready" when you buy them shouldn't be soaked in water, but you can wipe them with a damp cloth prior to performing the rest of the break in procedure.

oil

shaving cream and oven

Here are some ways:

1. Go to a sports store and ask for some glove oil. Put that on the glove and put it under a table or something heavy.

2. Put your glove under a parked, car (under the tire) for a long amount of time.
-No one will steal it
-A lot of weight on it.

3. Put the glove in the Oven. (Sounds silly but it really does work!)

Good Luck!

get a baseball and place it in the glove, then close the glove and get a piece of rope and tie the glove closed

glove oil and then put a ball in it and put it under a matress the ball in it will make a pocket for the ball

old hardware store if you can find it and get some "Neats Foot Oil" If not- regular vegitable oil or mineral oil. rub good and thouroughly and and bend repeatedly . Do this often and work it as much as possible. Leather takes a while to break in.

LOL, this may sound stupid but it works. When I started Little League, my coach told me to put the golve in the microwave, you may smell burning rubber, but it's ok. Don't heat it for 2 long then it will be soft.

The only way to break a golve in properly the way it should be is to use it often....play catch with it, throw a ball into it when you are sitting around, all these other ways are more likely to ruin the glove than to break it in properly
