| How can anyone bet against the Rockies now that they've won 21 out of 22 games? |

The Rockies have been a great story; they were 100/1 long shots to win it all in February, and again in May. Don't assume they'll be big underdogs to win the series. When you win 21 of 22, including sweeps in the Divisional and Championship Series, it has a way of improving your odds dramatically. It will be interesting to see how the long layoff affects Colorado, as they've been winning on emotion and momentum. The break has given them a lot of time to sit back and bask in the glow of their success. It'll be up to Clint Hurdle to keep the Rockies focused on beating on winning four more games. |

becuase streaks end at some point. An 8 day layoff is how. Its the ultimate momentum killer. Why stop with the World Series? I think they'll keep on rolling through at least 2014. Sure they're playing the best baseball anyone has ever played in the post-season (hear that 2005 White Sox?), but you cannot say they will win the series just because they have won a lot recently. Both the Indians and the Red Sox have a good chance of beating the Rockies 4 times in a 7 game span. D-Backs and Phillies ain't that good. They won't run over an A.L. team like that. Whatever happens it will be a battle. Anyone can look good when you're playing against crappy teams. Just wait until they get a hold of an American League Team in the World Series. The Rockies will get their a$$es kicked. How could anyone bet against the Diamondbacks they swept the Cubs? Because streaks end...and it doesnt help them that they have 2 wait 8 days between the LCS and the World Series. That is the longest layoff in baseball history. With the defense the Rockies have, it doesn't matter how much of a layoff they have, they will get the job done. It may not happen in a sweep, but they will do it. Don't forget that the Rockies handed Beckett his first loss this year, and in Boston. As a matter of fact, they took 2 of 3 out there. Definitely can't bet against this team in the post season. i would bet against the rox because of what happened to the tigers last year.... |
