Glad I could help Melissa. You might be adding 2007 Colorado Rockies to that. Report It The Rockies are this year, 2007~! i don't know the names of the teams but yes there has been 6 teams to do it. last team to do it is the 2004 boston red sox I think the Marlins were the first to go and win, that was what '98 or so. So they have gone and they have won. Florida won it twice as the Wild Card, the Redsox won it as a WIld Card, The Mets went as a Wild Card, and I don't know who else. Yes, happens quiet often. In 2002 the Angels won the World Series as the A.L. wildcard. Uh...excuse me.....Detroit Tigers of last year? Talk about short term memory! yes The Angels are my team and they did it! The Boston Red Sox were wild card in 2004 and went out to win the world series sweeping the St Louis Cardinals 4-0. This actually marks the sixth consecutive year that a wild card team has made it to the World Series. Not all have won it, but with the idea of wild card teams having to play up until the last day of the season (or a tie-breaker the next day in the case of the Rockies this year) they never feel a difference between the end of the regular season and the start of the playoffs. Uhh, Colorado Rockies? |
