roger would win in a fight but if your asking who was a better pitcher Nolan ryan is. wow, i would so love to see that ! two of the all time greats going head to head ! two of the best all time strikeout leaders,, & flamethrowers ever !
i guess the winner would sort of depend on such factors as the the teams they are playing for, the teams that are batting for them, the bull pens perhaps, especially the closers would most likely make the final decesion as well ! But wow, what a special treat that would be ! i would pay big time to see those two studs pitching against each other wouldnt you ? 1). It's ClemEns.
Roger is no doubt not only better than Ryan, but the best pitcher ever. He didn't walk nearly as many batters, and was lights out. If Clemens was to pitch 30 years like Ryan, he could put up those numbers too, but with less walks. And in those no-hitters, Ryan was walking 7-8 batters. He was never a really dominant pitcher like Clemens was and in a way, still is.
Anyways Roger wins, and he is the best pitcher ever. Ryan isn't even in my top ten. He's eleventh though.
My number 11 guy would be Nolan Ryan. Not because he has 300 wins, 7 no-hitters or has a great career ERA, but because the guy was consistently striking out 200 batters every year for nearly 30 years. He walked 2795 batters in his career, but he averaged 240 strikeouts a season and 120 walks, a 2:1 K:BB ratio. For 30 years, that's pretty good. To hold up that long and pitch 200 strikeouts two years before your retirement at age 46 is incredible. And in his last game, when he tore his ligament to end his career, even after he tore it he pitched another fastball that was clocked at 98 mph. Nolan Ryan for sure...ask Robin Ventura i remember a 40yr old ryan putting a young robin ventura in a head lock after he charged the mound and sucker punched him about 6 times. ryan wins this one easy In a literal fist-fight...obviously Nolan Ryan. Clemens would strain his groin getting to the mound anyway.
Pitching wise, Roger was probably better. ROCKET 4 SURE!!! GO YANKEES!!! =)
