After a not so good first inning at his start for the Round Rock Express tonight, do you think he's ready for his return to the Houston Astros as expected on June 22nd?

Heck yeah, he kicked butt in the other two games!! In Corpus, he struck out 11! He was great!!

I haven't watched the Round Rock game yet, because I was watching the Astros game, but I plan to watch the broadcast tomorrow afternoon. I've heard that he walked three and there were three hits. All around he did okay. I'm just wondering if he should get in one more game before returning, although we would like him back soon!

Clemens is "The Man" he will know when he is ready to come back. He will let the Astros know. The guy is awesome. All of the controversy will go out the door after his first couple of starts for the Astros. Feel free to talk smack to all of your ney sayer friends. Other than Nolan Ryan(who Clemens talks to about staying in shape) Roger is one of the greatest of all time and the Astros would be stupid not to keep him under contract until he is ready to retire.
By the way Adam, Nolan Ryan threw his last no hitter at age 42. Clemens has a lot left in the tank. I'm not from Texas, don't care for Texas and will never go back to Texas but, I know that Clemens has a bit more left than you give him credit for.

I absolutely think he's ready. It's an overdue return. You can't judge his comeback from one inning in one game. Look at all the other games he played in the past weeks. He kicked ***!

According to ESPN and baseball tonight, his form is a bit off from where it was last year. When looking at his mechanics, such as leg kick, release point, position of shoulders at release, position of glove on follow-through, etc. He isn't quite in mid season form. Does that mean he isn't going to be ready? Not necessarily.

We aren't talking about a guy who is returning from injury, just a guy who missed a couple months of the season. Many quality pitchers struggle early in the season when they are trying to get back into form. He still has great speed on his pitches in the mid to upper 90s. He also has good control on his pitches, not too many down the center of the strike zone or outside of the strike zone. Just because he has a bad game, doesn't mean he won't be ready to play. He is healthy, so he'll be ready, he just needs to get back into form.

At his age, he is going to be less than perfect. Especially since he missed the first 2 months of the season....He'll do good but not great.
