Can a girl try out for a boys baseball team?

i always wanted to be first base for the baseball team at school. for girls theres softball but iam already on a softballteamand iam the first base/picther.no girl in the history of my school tried out for the baseball team. i want to be the first iam really good. what should i do i playedbaseball scince i was 4.

I dont think you are able to since there is a girls sport that is basicly the same for you to play. My school wouldnt allow that to happen I know that.

You won't make it. Why even try.

Be the first. Do what you want to do, don't let people crap on your dream. If you're good they'll respect you. Keep playing.

Yes you can. You should be able to try out. It would be good to talk to the athletic director first though.

yes you can however, I don't advise it.. Im not a sexist anumal.. I am just being real... I know a girl who tried out for my HS Wrestling team and she was harrased constantly.. Boys would call her names and make comments... SHE REGRETED IT AT THE END!!

Dont do it!

Luck and God Bless.

hey, go for it!! u won't know what will happen till u try. and dont pay any attention to what all those sexist people have to say. do what u think and feel is right!

Im pretty sure a girl can my friend did and she made it so stfu guys who say girls cant bishes.

This is a tough one. Girls are almost always allowed to try out for a boys sport when they are not given the opportunity to participate on a girls team. In your situation, there IS a girls softball team. They may only allow you to play softball.

There is, however, stark differences between baseball and softball. There are several rule changes and the way the games are played are worlds apart. Those facts may give you an opportunity to play on the boys team because there is no girls "baseball" team, only a softball team.

Finally, there's a chance they would only allow you to play one or the other. Lets say, for example, that you were truly a superstar. A player so good that you'd make a big splash even on the boys teams. It wouldn't be fair for other schools to have to play against you in both boys and girls.

So ultimately, I believe you could play baseball, but you would be forfeiting your right to play softball. I do not, however, have anything to support this except for my years of being around high school athletic departments, and I have an above average understanding on how these things usually work.

go for your dreams try to get on the team i play baseball and im really good at softball

i say go for it, BUT i think if your school has a team for girls (softball) you can not try out for baseball. but say if you wanted to go out for the football team you could because there isnt a girls team. i am a girl and i personally played on guys baseball teams when i was younger. i see where your coming from. guys think for some reason girls cant play as good as them, but in reality girls are just as good if not better, my softball team is probably better than at least half of the guys on the baseball team.

HONESTLY I THINK IF YOUR THAT GOOD YOU CAN PLAY JUST AS WELL AS ANY OTHER BOY ON THE BASEBALL TEAM WHY NOT I SAY GO FOR IT IF THEY ALLOW IT DO YOUR THING. I BELIEVE THAT WE COULD BE JUST AS GOOD AS MEN IN THIS WORLD IF WE JUST PUT OUR MIND, KNOWLEDGE AND EFFORTS IN TO IT,OR WE COULD EVEN BE BETTER.

There is no way you'll be able to play both sports since the seasons over lap. Neither coach would want you to split time with 2 teams either.
