Got a question for all you Yankees haters, Why are you rejoicing in the fact that Jeter didn't win the MVP?

Why is it that you hate the Yankees but deep down inside you wish your team had the same success? Why can't you all admit that you'd trade your teams history for half the success of the Yankees? Tell me why you wouldn't have wanted 10 divisional titles, 6 Ameican League Pennants and 4 World Championships during these past 11 seasons for your team? You mean to tell me that if given the chance to have Derek Jeter on your team you'd say no? How does it feel to have your 30 seconds in the sun knowing that the Yankees are still the team everyone wants their team to be like? Did you know that someone actually got my first message kicked off because I didn't ask a question? Can you imagine the shallow minded individual who might have done that?

You've nailed it Jen. The truth!! All of these people who claim to disagree with you are just not being honest with themselves. Of course they wish their teams were as successful as the Yankees. What fan wouldn't? The bottom line is that money or not the players still have to get the job done on the field. Georgie is always talking about the Yankees not winning a world series in this century. The fact is the Tigers haven't won still 1984. So what is your point Georgie? The Tigers are nothing more than a one hit wonder. Big deal, you won a pennant. You are all missing the point. It's all about the legend of the Yankees and how it overshadows all of baseball. No matter what the other teams do, it's still all about the Yankees and how your teams compare. Some of you just have to make your hateful comments to relieve your frustration. I think that's pitiful. Instead of being mad at the Yankees what don't you turn to your own teams ownership and ask them why they don't put a winner on the field. And don't give me this money crap. All franchises have the money to buy anyone they want. It's a matter of stepping up to the plate and doing it. Obviously they don't have the guts.

we do NOT wish we had the same success
that would be boring and bad for the game
as for jeter, i wouldnt mind having him
hes a great guy and a team player
but the yankees have him and thats not going to change
so we're not happy that jeter didnt win it
we're happy that the yankees didnt win it
morneau did way more for his team than jeter did for his
when you're surrounded by all stars its pretty tough to make an effective individual change for a team
even when you're 30 feet from alex rodriguez

all you yankee fans are just mad cause its the truth
see all you do is whine and whine and whine
then you make things up saying that we're just mad because we're not greedy
thats what steinbrenner is
greedy
all he wants is to buy the best players
proof:
every starter on the team this year has been an allstar at least once
i hope to God that there is a salary cap sooner or later so all you go-with-the-flow-ers will realize that the only reason your team is considered (by yankee fans) the best
26 world championships in 103 seasons
if you gave these newer teams 103 seasons from the time the yankees started things wouldnt be so glorious
i rest my case

Easy, because we hate the Yankees and anything that has to do with them.

Maybe the biggest payroll in baseball for the last million years has something to do with it. OO by the way Yankees aren't going to win a WS within the next ten years. THEY HAVE NO PITCHING

One, I am not a yankee hater. Two, the better player won fair and square. I like Jeter. I really do. Three, Jeter will win at least two before he is done. Jeter is the most consistent player over the past five years. Relax.

Actually I am a National League fan with little feelings about the Yankees in specific and the American League in general. I will say I think over the long haul Derek Jet er has been jobbed in never winning the MVP. He is a fantastic player who would have seemed worthy a couple of times. Maybe the sportswriters just don't like him or the Yankees. Maybe someday we will have a salary cap in baseball as we do in other sports and then we will see who the best talent evaluators are and which teams dominate a sport. Certainly will level the playing surface.

I am a Red Sox fan but I am not rejoicing Jeter losing. Either Jeter or Mauer should have one the voters were way off. Wanting Jeter on my team of course who wouldn't. To have a very successful decade I don't know because I love baseball but I enjoy watching other teams be able to come up and win to make it more competitive. do not wish for the same success though throughout the history. I find that it helps you in life to have some disappointment in it. What would life be like without heartbreak it helps us make us who we are.

Yes, I noticed that your first attempt was thrown off by someone who must have had a bone to pick with your comments. Very unfortunate that there are people like that. I agree with you just as much now as I did earlier. I'm read most of these so called replies and all it does is show how right you are. Non Yankees fans are just green with envy. I guess it has something to do with not wanting to hear the truth. You go young lady and tell it like it is. And don't let some faceless bully try and bury the truth. Go Yankees!!!

Good question that I'm not sure I can answer except to say it's envy plain and simple. The Yankees were great even before free agency so you haters don't know what you're talking about. They such had great scouting for decades. I'm a transplanted South Philly dude so I'm a huge Phillies fan. I just wish my Phillies had some of the Yankees success and maybe they will this coming season. Who knows? If we had a chance to get Jeter for Rollins what do you think we would do? Are you kidding me? I can't argue with anything you say but it's fun reading all this garbage from all these so called baseball fans. I don't have a problem with the truth!!

There is no denying it, the Yankees are the target of the rest of baseball because of their success. I'm reading some of these comments and some are just mindless hatred. You're right, if there teams had Jeter and the success of the Yankees they would be singing a different tune. And as for Georgie, your team hasn't won a world series in a generation! What's up wit dat?? I love guys like Mick "7", always under control in the middle of a storm! Go on Yankees haters, have a field day but Jen is right, you only wish your teams were as successful.

Looks like you hit a nerve. All I can say is 26 world championships and 39 American League pennants. Jeter was the victim of uneducated voters who maybe watch a half dozen games a year and just read local coverages from each city's press releases. If you think I'm kidding, I'm not. You'd be amazed how out of touch these sports writers are outside of their own media areas. And lets not forget that these sports writers are human so if they don't like someone, that person is screwed big time. It's all politics anyway. We Yankees fans know that Jeter should have won so forget about it!! Next season we'll just have to piss off the rest of baseball and win another world series!! Ha!!

Jen, as you can see by this forum it's mostly anti-Yankee. You touch upon why it is in your question and that's the success our team has had not only in the past 11 seasons but since the early 1900's. That kind of success develops into envy in other parts of the country that festers into jealousy. You see it spewed in here. If other teams expect the kind of season that we do every year they would understand what we take in stride and what we have come to expect EVERY YEAR. Unfortunately, it affects other areas that have impact on Awards and such. It's truly an injustice to Derek Jeter for the sportswriters to act unobjectively. For a Sportswriter to vote Jeter 6th is downright sick.
You're a Yankee fan get used to the abuse in here that Yankees fans have to take, it's not pretty.

I LOOOOVE THE YANKEES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (NOTICE THE SCREENAME)
and derek jeter is my future husband!! -i have a poster of him hanging over my bed!

Hey Jen, let them spit their poison. They know as well as we Yankees fans do. It's all about the rings!! Derek is the man! He's a future hall of famer whether he wins the MVP or not. I love these Yankees haters!! They haven't got a clue! I think you've sum up everything very nicely. Is there any way you can give yourself 10 points? GO YANKEES!!

WOO! GO GP!!! I TOTALLY AGREE! (yankee hater right here)

errr have you ever heard the mets? cuz theyre taking over kay? ive waited since i was 6 to say this,
btw. the king is back, its good to be king

lol yankees are gonna die....

he Yankkes are the reason there will be a salary cap in baseball sometime in the future!!
Steinbreener will be his own worst enemy when hw will have to cut his payroll in half! I am glad Jeter didn't win theMVP it went to the right person!!

Well first, lets see I do not wish my team had this boring success that only money can buy. And yes if given the chance I would not take Jeter, there are better players out there that could help a team . Of course we rejoice because someone undeserving didn't win. And why is it that all you yankee fans are whining so much about jeter losing. get over it already.

Agreed! I just hope I see a Phillies - Yankees world series in 2007. The rest of these idiots can sit home and watch it on TV. Blind hatred, wow, these people are sick. Go Phillies and Yankees.

I'm okay with the way things went this year...Yes I"m rejoicing in the fact that the guy who actually deserved the award won in the AL...Justin Morneau was the AL MVP, Jermaine Dye was the AL's best player, Derek Jeter should have finished 4th behind Joe Mauer...

It is my prerogative, I do what I want to do.

Hey georgie porgie, hate to burst your bubble but Morneau wears pinstripes as well. :-F

anybody that dosent like jeter dosent like the game being played the way its suppose to.. no tiger even came close to the award, and the tigers choked their world series away and they havent won since 1984... not this century either...

I am an avid Red Sox fan, and I think Jeter got robbed. He is the very best at what he does: playing shortstop, hitting and, above all, leading. He most definitely deserved the award.

Chow!!

How cool is this? Not once did you ask why Jeter didn't win the MVP, but the anti-Yankees fans are answering it like you did. They're not even reading you questions. It's about the success of the franchise more than it's about the individual. I think I understand where you are coming from. You've really got some of these jerks in a fury! Ya gotta love it!!

You are correct. It's all about envy and blind hatred as someone already mentioned. I'd love to see my Phillies have that kind of success. And I agree that all these franchises can afford any players they want. It's just that Stienbrenner is willing to open his pockets when most don't have the balls to do it.

I don't hate the Yankees but I dislike arrogant Yankee fans who can't stand somebody else getting some recognition. I certainly hope that Jeter has more class than a lot of his fans.
.

Because (as an offical yankee hater) it is nice to see someone NOT wearing pinstripes win that award.

As a yankee hater I would have to wonder if the yankees knew there were 29 other teams in MLB.

Also, as a yankee hater, it is my duty to remind you that the yankees havent won a world series in the 21st century (that started on January 01, 2001).

And I do not report anyone unless it is extremely clear that they are violating the nice rules here.

I love Yankee fans! When your team is up, you think you're on top of the world - when you're down, you have to pinpoint everyone else as the one with the problem. As a Cardinal fan for life (take that World Series, yanks!) I think its something that is taught at an early age to hate the Yankees and anything to do with their organization. My brother-in-law is a Yankee fan, and it gives me no greater joy than to revel in his pain. But, he feels the same way when my Cards are losing. Half the time, the Yankee's end up overrated anyway. It will be the same way the next time the Yankee's win something - you'll feel the same way about sticking it to whatever team you dislike. Am I right?

I'm glad that my team does not have the payroll that the Yankees have. I'm glad we don't have an arrogant owner who nowadays can't even buy the Championship. As for Jeeter, he's a great guy. Too bad he's on a team that couldn't make it to the big dance.

well first of all derek jeter didn't deserve to win the mvp when you are surrounded by as much talent as he was you are expected to produce therefore why should you be rewarded for something that you are supposed to be doing another thing his stats paled in comparison to justin morneau's you know the player who won the mvp award and another thing why should or would anybody take pride of their team for buying most of your championships through free agancy and by late season trades can you answer me that because i find that to be mindboggling

There's a feeling (especially here in flyover land) that the East Coast media were rooting for Jeter to win the award, and they were heaping excessive praise on him in an effort to convince people that he was deserving. ESPN doesn't seem to know or care that the AL Central exists. There are some pretty darn good teams in that division, but media members act like Yankees vs. Red Sox is the be all, end all.

I'm a White Sox fan, and I hate Morneau and the Twins. But I thought he deserved the award, and I'm glad he won it. The two best players in the league this year were Morneau and Jermaine Dye, IMO. Morneau's team won the division. We finished third. To the victor goes the spoils.
