By baseball name, I mean the person who's name you hear and makes you think about baseball. Really catchy names (e.i. Homer Bush, Coco Crisp, Pee-wee Reese, "Oil Can" Boyd, the "Rocket" Roger Clemons, "Sultan of Swat" Babe Ruth, "Big Hurt" Frank Thomas, " The Bash Brothers" Jose Canseco and Mark McGuire, and many others. |

He was a Relief Pitcher for the San Diego Padres and Oakland Atheletics. He many times won the Rawlings Relief Award for his outstanding closing pitching. The Natural- Will Clark I've always liked Vida Blue and Urban Shocker. Coco Crisp Charlie Hustle-Pete Rose Hammerin' Hank Donnie Baseball. mark mcgire took steroids and doesnt deseve the record of most homers in a season. and barry bonds doesnts desrve to beat hank arrons record, but i think coco crisp has the most catchy baseball name The Zamboni Machine-Kenny Reitz Cocoa Crispies Of course this is subjective.....but I think in the 19th and early 20th century the nicknames may have been the best. Among my favorites are Mike "King" Kelly, Robert "Death To Flying Things" Ferguson, Charles "Piano Legs" Hickman, Fred "Crazy" Schmit and Bill "Wagon Tongue" Keister. More recently, the best are Dennis "Oil Can" Boyd, Razor Shines, minor leaguer Pork Chop Pough and BillSpaceman" Lee Shooty Babbit.......
