What is the worst loss in baseball history?

Besides the Orioles losing 30-3 tonight, what is the record (if this is not it) for the worst single game loss by a team? Score?

today, Rangers 30-3 against the Orioles. In this day and age each team should be good enough to not lose by 27 runs!

1897 Cubs win 36-7 over Louisville

The worse loss in baseball history was when the Yankees lost 22-0 vs. the Indians in 2004.

Although it is not one game, the worst defeat in sports history was when the New York Yankees choked and gave up a 3 game to 0 lead to the Boston Red Sox in the 2004 ALCS. The Red Sox came back in the ninth, and won three more straight games to become the first MLB team in history to win a series after trailing 3 games to 0. What makes it even worse is that it was the Yankees, with their unlimited payroll.

In 1897 the Chicago Colts beat a team by scoring 36 runs in a single game as they changed the team name soon after becomeing a hall of fame team. In the AL the Texas Rangers tied the record at 30 but the NL is indeed 36 runs.

thanks for bringing this up. there was 5 things i always wanted to see (1) a team comes back from a 3-0 deficit to win a 7 game series (2) the redsox winning the world series (3) the whitesox winning the world series (4) the cubs winning the world series (5) a team score 30 runs in a game . well everything accept the cubbies winning it all . the only game i can think of was when the pirates beat the cubs 22-0 (but i don't remember what year it was !!!

this was not the worst lost in my book... the rangers and orioles both suck and i rather lose by 20+ runs than lose by one on an error in the World Series... the worst loss is in the 1986 world series game 6... u go up in the 10th and lose on an error on a routine grounder... that would hurt me more as a player than a 20 run difference

The day Thurman Munson died in a plane crash. The day Roberto Clemente died in his also

The biggest margin of victory was +31, by the Chicago White Stockings over the Cleveland Spiders, 35-4, on 24-July-1882.

My Yankees losing the 1960 World Series on Bill Mazaroski's walk off home run.....47 years later it still hurts and will always be my worst single loss as a fan!
