What is the best start in MLB history?

The best one in my memory is the 1984 Detroit Tigers starting off 35 and 5. They went on to win it all that year, beating the White Sox in the ALCS and the Padres in the World Series.

Oops, gotta fix this. The White Sox won the West in '83, not '84. KC was the only team above .500 in the AL West that year so they got to get thumped by the Tigers.

2005 Chicago White Sox.
swept Boston in ALDS
won 4 out of 5 against the Angels
then swept Houston in World Series

and in the 2005 regular season, they had a lead in their first 37 games-->record.

True about the Tigers -but they beat the Royals 3-0, not the White Sox.

i think some team a couple years ago won like their first 32
