A side note on the Pirates - Cubs game...Rennie Stennett tied an MLB record by going 7 for 7 in a 9 inning game. Since you emphasized "history of baseball" and not Major League, I'll go with the 1902 minor league game where Corsicana massacred Texarkana, 51-3. A difference as you can see of 48-runs. You'd have to go back to the early history of MLB (I presume you mean MLB) to look at some of the scores there. MLB is generally dated back to 1876. |
