Pitching, softball?

how do i make my pitching faster? and more accurate? any answers would help. i have been pitching for 3 years and i have not mastered it yet. i am 14 and i will play for the school next year. i would like to know how to make me a better pitcher so maybe i will get to pitch some.

I play mens fastpitch, and I agree with steve. Get that big push. Remember, the bigger the push, the less distance the ball has to travel.

In my league, the best two pitchers get over 7 or 8 feet off that rubber. While the average pitchers hardly 4 or 5 feet.

When pitching from such a short distance, 3 or 4 feet makes a huge difference to us batters.

Oh, and control and pitch variety can kill speed any day. Best 2 pitchers in our league throw great change ups. But, the best pitcher has a third pitch that is pretty much untouchable when behind in the count.

work out a lot and just pitch more. You also might want to get a video camera and video yourself pitching to see where your releasing it and have a 2nd camera to show where the ball ends up. Pros do that ALL the time.

I am an umpire and have had the chance to see a lot of different styles of pitching. The things that I have noticed about all of the good pitchers with good speed is that they have a very good push off the pitching rubber and have an extremely fast hip turn as the ball reaches their hip.

At fourteen I would recommend that you try to attend a pitching clinic in your area. They can help you fine tune any mistakes you may have in your delivery. In my area, a lot of the colleges offer pitching clinics for younger pitchers.
