he was a manager for 12 years been to playoffs for 12 years...2001 was a gift from heaven in ALDS and 4 WS rings..and steinbrenner treatens him

The handling of this by the Yankees is a disgrace. No respect for a man that led them to 12 straight postseason appearances with 4 titles. If he has not gotten it done recently and they wanted a change they could have gone about this totally differently. Steinbrenner is an *** and if I believed in curses like the BoSox and Cub fans, I would wish the Curse Of Torre on this franchise.

Red Sox fan here, but I think the Yankees Orginization will miss him. Especially if they lose Jorge and A-Rod. Come on he led you back into the playoff race after a terrible, terrible start. Watch the Yankees not even make the playoffs next season and Torre will be laughing his head off. He has brought you 4 World Series and brought you to 12 straight playoffs appearences. Give him another shot. I say give him 3 more years because you can't just lose a manager like him. He is just too hard to replace.

I think what the Yankees did to Joe Torre is unbelievable!!! He has more class in his... then any other manager in mlb... this from a Red Sox fan...enough said????
