| Best player of my generation? |

I noticed when I answered "who is the greatest living player" with either Willie Mays or Barry Bonds, I received 3 thumbs down, presumably for listing Bonds. So I was wondering, who do you think is the best player of my generation (Generation X)? This includes all players born between 1961 and 1981. |

If you can look past the steroids, then it's got to be Bonds. Amazing career numbers, and he had a stretch from 2001-04 that was incredible. |

I believe A-Rod is probably the best player of Gen X. My guess is that he'll end up with better stats (including more HR's) than Bonds and will have less controversy during his career. Putting aside his recent injuries I would have to consider Ken Griffey Jr. Of course his career is not over but I can't think of any player in their prime who was better. Other considerations would be A-Rod and if you look closely to his career stats, Derek Jeter. i'm going to say Craig Biggio Roger Clemens B.8/4/62 or Derek Jeter B.6/24/72 Greatest player of Gen X... I'd say probably Alex Rodriguez. The guy is well on his way to breaking whatever home run record that Bonds has. I'd say A-Rod. Those who say that Bonds is best must take into consideration that his stats may well be chemcially enhanced. In other words he did not do it on his own. Barry Bonds, unfortunately. I'll say Alex Rodriquez. He's won 2 AL MVP awards, almost to the 500 HR club, over 2100 career hits, and he is only 31 years old with many more years to come in his career. |
