I know nothing about baseball and somehow I have to put up a good debate in class tomorrow why the Yankees are better then the red sox. I know the Yankees are out of the world series. so I thought I could bring the facts that the Yankees are better players overall and they have beaten the red sox more times then the red Sox have beating them. Also I need 3 source so please dont resistate to tell. One last thing... I think im a red sox fan anyways! thanks alot!

Well, the Yankees are the highest payed team in MLB history, which is why they have the best (or should have the best) players.

The yankee's had a superior record over the last three quarter's of the season. They have a much better defensive team and by the end of the year the bullpen was quite better. If u take the players per position except for manny in RF (and only because of his hitting) there isn't anyone on the redsox that u would take over the yanks NO ONE

Pull up stats as in( Wins to Losses)they are the proof in the pudding! Just because a team is loved more by the media , and or a bulk majority front runner fans,, it does not mean they are better!! They are not better than the Indians,, so how could this even be a debate? I would just call your sad teacher out ,,since his Yanks lost , and he can't take it!! If your out of the playoff then your not better than the teams still IN! .. also another source,, the (playoff grid) ,,-- I would push more at the POINT of this Debate question !!

edit: Baseball is also a true team sport ,, more than say basketball where one superstar can score 50-60 points per game!! If you have one or two superstars on a baseball team it helps , yet it don't have the effect as my comparison of basketball!!

As Yankee fan, I realize the Red Sox did better than the Yankees because of pitching but baseball fans can't deny the fact that even though the Yankees lost in the first round of the play-offs, considering they were at one time 141/2 games out to win wild card shows that they did have a good season.

This is not rocket science. To put it simply the Yankees starting 8 position players are far better than the Red Sox.

firstly yankees rule, but the history why boston red sox and yankees don't each other is because of like 100years ago there was a player named babe ruth. he was on the red sox and the manager shipped him to the yankees. yankees won heaps of world series with him. i guess the sox were angry... they didn't do as well. even after babe ruth proving that it wasn't just because of babe ruth that they won. this isn't much of yankees 2007 but its useful info proving that yankees are better with proof of the past. 2007 wise, red sox have better pitching. Its possible to say in your debate, if the red sox lose to the cleveland indians, the red sox and yankees are at the same level because they both lost to the indians. If the sox win, they are probably better. Who knows who will get into the world series? But yankees have had a better past...

The best team does not always win. This was proven in 2001-2007 (especially 2004). A team can get hot for 2 weeks and win a championship.

Yankees were way better than Cleveland. Indians were 0-6 vs Yankees regular season and only .500 against the east.

Simple during the 2007 season the Yankees won more games against the Red Sox, than the Red Sox won against the Yankees.

History has proven the Yankees teams are far better then the Boston Redsox teams.There will be time when they kick our butts but most time it happending to them.If you had list of top Redsox & Yankees all time teams the Yankees would win hand down.Also who has more Hall of Famers in Cooperstown guess who?
