He trades the players away, fires the coaches....and says next yr. How about "next yr" someone fires him?

Unfortunately, J.P. Ricciardi is a victim of circumstance. He is a risk-taker, and he needs to be to compete in that division, but he has often been priced out of reaching his goals. He spent last offseason committed to retaining Ted Lilly and signing Gil Meche. Unfortunately, the Cubs and Royals respectively overpaid for those player's services, and JP was left without options.

I disagree with his signing of A.J. Burnett, but for the most part I think he has made good decisions based on his budget restraints and the division his team is in.

I think he has done a well enough to deserve a chance to prove that his younger players that are now reaching the big leagues are what they appear to be. Adam Lind shows signs of being a quality player and Travis Snider is not far behind. Likewise, the Blue Jays are in a rare position of being strong in terms of minor league pitching depth. They are very balanced, and I think they are closer that people think to perennial contention, even in the AL East.
