| How could you play baseball with 6 or 8 people? |
|
Also what would be the rules? |

First, we always played pitchers hand for outs and you have to pull the ball, anything to the opposite field and you were out. We played with 4 people sometimes when we were kids and those two rules always worked. |

You could play with 6 or 8 people. You would have a pitcher, catcher, 1st baseman, 2nd baseman, 3rd baseman, shortstop, left fielder and right fielder. There is 8 people. You could also cut out the outfielders all together for 6 people, but have shortstop, 2nd baseman and 1st play a tad bit deeper. It wouldn't be easy though. I don't think it'd change any rules. As for the tennis ball, it's a little bit heavier so it may make it a little harder to throw change ups and sliders but it could work I guess. Ever heard of Indian baseball? Split up into two teams and use only one half of the field in order to work on going that way. Anything through the infield is one point, Anything that goes to the fence is two, and homeruns are three. Just close off right field, yes you can throw junk balls with a tennis ball. curve, fastball, and a slider, and a changeup well we use to play with 4 in my backyard. we had pitch and catch or pitch and firstbase. we always played pitchers hand, thats were if you get to the base before the ball is in the pitchers hand you are safe and if you don't make it your out. we also played with alot of ghost runners, there was alot of controversy when one of them stold home needless to say. Use a pitching machine in replacement of the pitcher. You can always cut 3 positions easily, pitcher, catcher and an outfielder. The batting team would supply the pitcher and the first basemen would have to cover home or have a throw beating the runner home is an out. The batter would have to choose which half of the outfield he is going to hit to, if he hits to the other side he is out. You can cut a 4th by having only 3 infelders and then cut a 5th by only having one outfeilder. When I was a kid in the 50's, we would play baseball with 5 on a side - P, SS, 3B, LF,CF. The right side was out of bounds. The team at bat provided a catcher, but the pitcher covered for a play at the plate. All the bases were used but grounders fielded by SS and 3B were thrown to the P and the batter was out if he failed to reach first before the P received the ball. We used a hardball and also designated a distant spot for an automatic home run. This question really brought back memories. |
