What do you think about this?

http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news;_ylt=Ao...

I was watching the game and even though i'm a rockies fan I thought it was good of the fans to do this. we can't let the ump's make up new rules when the playoffs come. these kind of moves happen ALL THE TIME in regular season. where the runner goes into the freaking 2nd baseman or ss-with their legs up and trying to cleet them with ZERO intent on trying to get to the bag. Heck seen it in the yanks indians series. i just thought that was wrong, now i'm a rockies fan and i'm glad we won but still that **** could end up happening to us-umps trying to dictate the game. we see it already in NBA playoffs and we seen it in the NFL when brady CLEARLY fumbled that ball against the raiders (100 years of football that's a fumble-raiders suing the NFL that year and its ruled a pass? even though brady was clearly tucking the ball to KEEP from fumbling cuz he knew he was gonna get hit).

its important that the fans show their disgust with the umps. I remember back in the day when that nebraska fans starting throwing oranges on the field because they were going to the orange bowl (or got robbed of going something like that) and when IN THE orange bowl the miami fans would throw oranges on bad calls.

to me thats fan interaction at its best.

put some fear into the ref's-umps and judges.

fans won't tolerate them dictating the game.

GO ROCKIES!

I watched the same game and even thought i'm rooting for the diamondbacks..i thought that call was not consistant with how baseball is normally called. so i guuuuuuuuesss..i kinda agree.

Baseball deals with a lot of bad calls. That's the perks of having no instant replay.

im an arizona fan and it was a few fans throwing stuff boooing was right that was a horrible call ur supposed to take someone out to help ur teamate

Are you kidding me? No wait I didn' t see him leave the bag,AFTER touching it and throw his elbow at Matsui's legs. No you guys are right, that was a figment of my imagination

I think it was a good call...I wish more umps would call interference when a runner tries to break up a double play by throwing elbows because this happens a lot (I know I have seen A-Rod do this many times)...it's one thing to slide hard to break up a double play it is another thing when someone slides and pops up elbows swinging to break it up...even if it was a bad call that was definitely bad sportsmanship on the part of the fans...there is never a reason to throw stuff onto the field...I would say I am surprised that someone condones it but I am never shocked at what some so called fans do or condone nowadays.

Edit:
I never said cleats up was going in hard...I meant going fast and sliding wide (while still being able to touch the bag) so the second baseman or shortstop has to jump and it disrupts his throw...I would think cleats high trying to spike would be interference as well...don't put words in my mouth

I could NOT believe they called interference. I coached baseball for twenty years, I had one of my former players call me tonight. That's how I was taught, that's how I taught. That is HOW YOU PLAY THE GAME. He did not go out of the base line !

It was the #1 worst call of the season.

It was a good call.

The umpires don't "make up" rules in the playoffs. They just enforce them more strictly because they know that any play could be a turning point, so they want to make the correct call based on the WRITTEN RULES. The umpires don't make things up. There is a reason that they are at the major league level. They have earned it by making good calls.

Don't start insulting them before you start umpiring at the major league level.
