There are a couple ways to look at this: 1) you have the ability to affect youngsters in a very positive way. Not only are you helping them develop skills, you help them learn important life lessons - how to win with grace, how to loss with dignity, motivation, teamwork, etc. 2) high schoolers are mature enough (physically) to start learning more advanced baseball skills. Things like throwing a curve ball or slider, 1st and 3rd situations, defensive adjustments. Kids prior to high school do not have the mental or physical maturity to play advanced baseball.
