Girardi to be honest. With the record he had in Fl, he'll be great w/ the Yanks. Plus, he doesn't take crap from anyone, including his boss. He's exactly what the Yankees need.

Joe torre will be the manager of the yankees until he dies.

This might be a surprize to you..I think bernie Williams might be. George is known for doing those sort of stunts.

My Picks

(1. Joe Giradi. He has a GREAT baseball mind and could bring a title back to the Bronx. I dont think he will quite be, 'Joe Torre 1996 - 2001' but I think he will be something special.

(2. Don Mattingly - He was promoted from hitting coach to bench coach I believe - he was a Yankee captain for many years. He can share his knowledge of the game as a manager. I think he would be a great pick.

(3. Bernie Williams - Why not? I think he would be good but thats just my opinion, he has never coached a season.

(4. Tony Larussa - He has proven that he is aa great one. He led a 83 win Cards team to beat teams that include the Mets, Tigers, and Padres. His '06 Cards team won the least games in the regular season to win the World Series!

I don't think it's intelligent to get rid of Torre, he got them from almost at the bottom to almost winning the division, and he got them into the playoffs, plus he avoided the sweep, so even if they lose tonight he has done all he can.

It doesn't really matter too much. As long as the Yankees have ownership that is willing to pay big money for big names, ( I am not hatin on Steinbrenner here, unlike most fans, I think that his spending is not ridiculous or unfair, it is not his fault that other teams place earning over championships ). If this philosophy of building the best team possible at any cost continues, and there is no reason to beleive that is going to change any time soon, just about any coach in baseball could win with the yankees.
