| What happened to the minor league coach, Phillip Wellman, after his tirade last week? |
The video is everywhere, but I'd like to know what happened to him as a result. Was he fined? Suspended? What? |
He got suspended for three games and got his 15 minutes of fame. |

I dont' know for sure, but with that action, defitnly a suspension and a fine. His mother called him and told him that she was proud of him. I think it was all a publicity stunt. This seems to happen at least once a year in the minors. Do you remeber the guy that did it last year. He was sliding into bases, throwing bats, everything. If you as me its all a stunt to get people to come out to the minor league ball parks. Rehab, probably...that guys just not right in the head. I hope he was embarrassed more than anything else. I've never seen someone whose age was double-digit act like such a punk before. . . . He made a lot of money on bets, because that tirade was well planned out. I got the plessure of seeing it in person. Can't believe it is this popular. He used to be the manager for the Chattanooga Lookouts (our home team) and he's done stuff like this before. Several years ago he got mad and threw everything from the duggout onto the field and his last game as manager of the Lookouts they had a video of all the times he's done stuff like this. My guess would be a fine and that's it. I heard he was suspended for a few days. Imagine what might have happened to him if he held up his middle finger to the crowd. That probably would've cost him the entire season. |
