Coaching little league softball question...?

I coach a team of girls, all of which are moving up to the next level next season. The current coach of the next age bracket is a lousy coach who is only wanting to coach b/c of his daughter, not for the good of the team. The parents know this and most would prefer that I move up with the girls and remain their head coach. I tried talking to this guy, but he basically refuses to work with me. What's the best way to handle this? Should I rally the parents to petition against this guy or what? I know that my players will not want to play ball if they have to play for this guy, based on his reputation. :( I hate to see the kids stop playing for a season b/c of him ya know? Anyway, I'm at a loss as to what steps I should take at this point. :) Any suggestions would be appreciated!!!

Yes it is rude to say this but you should get the parents to petition against the guy. Then if that don't work keep the girls together and turn then into a traveling team and don't play in the league that the guy currently coaches in.
