5.The Natural The Natural; Field of Dreams; The Lou Gehrig story; The Babe (the one starring John Goodman);the Grover Cleveland Alexander story staring Ronald Reagan and Doris Day My favorite is Bull Durham. How many people 'know their cliches' because of this movie? "Gotta take it one game at a time", "just trying to help the team", etc. The list of things Crash believes, the lollygagger speech, the meetings on the mound... all great scenes.
Also in my top five are the Natural, Field of Dreams, A League of Their Own and a little known short film from Saturday Night Live called "Rabbit and the King". Billy Crystal and Christopher Guest play former Negro League stars. 1. field of dreams. that line at the end "hey dad, wanna have a catch?" makes grown men cry
