| Do we now have more kiddie soccer leagues in USA than kiddie baseball leagues? |

I know soccer is a popular sport throughout the world......but I still cant understand why american parks are full of kids playing in soccer matches while baseball games are becoming a rarity (for kids). I have a hunch its a symptom of other changes going on in our country having to do with politics...globalization, etc.... |

I don't know about other areas, but baseball rules the Spring and soccer and football rules the late Summer/early Fall. As President of a youth baseball organization, it's hard as heck to get field permits to satisfy the 4 teams I had, and with the expansion of having a minor league system for kids 5 and under and hopefully more teams in the 6 to 16 range, I'm going to have to really fight for field times this Spring! |

It's because baseball takes up more money than soccer. When the athletes grow up, they seek out more challenging sports than soccer and grow up to play baseball, real football, basketball and hockey. |
