| How many baseballs get used in one year, major league level, no post season, preseason games. no practices.? |
|
Watching a game last night, so many get thrown to fans, umps confiscate 2 or 3 each batter...Including all MLB teams in only regular season games, the number seems to be huge. Thanks Sportsfan86b - does that count all teams in both leagues? Or is the number you came up with only for 2 teams for one season? |

well, the average number of pitches per ball is 7 pitches. So with about 200 pitches in a game, there are 1400 balls used per game. 1400 x 162 games in a season is 86800. That is a rough estimate. |

If the average ball was used for 7 pitches, and thee are about 200 pitches per game, then one game would use 28-29 balls, not 1400. 1400 balls a game means 7 balls per pitch. Report It About 3892. |
