Does anyone know how much players who play in leagues like the Can-Am League, the American Association of Pro Baseball and also in minor league baseball (AAA, AA, A and R). |

The average salary for a minor league player is around $1500 per month usually with some kind of meal allowance as well. This is from milb.com |

I get $1700, with my meal allowance, but on days where we have away games and we ride the bus, sometimes we have to pay for our own rooms. because of unexpected delays. Report It shoit! go play golf I know for AAA at least a few years ago, either the starting or average salary was around $72,000. I knew some that made a lot more...I know one that was making that back in '02 when I first met him now making over $4M/year in the bigs. My cousin is Doug Thompson, a releiver pitcher that won the College World Series for LSU in 1997. He went to the minor leagues for Colorado and even made it to triple A ball (He once closed a game for Mike Hampton in spring training). He make about $35,000.00. It wasn't much, but it kept him in the game. He doesn't pitch anymore though. I don't know the actual salries per level (A, AA, AAA, MLB). I knew a guy who played long season A ball and he said average salary was $400 per week along with per diem meal money (which was about $25+). He said if a player was at a certain level for 90 days or more, he was guaranteed the salary for that level no matter if he got sent down. For example, a guy gets called up to the MLB club, spends 90 days there and gets sent to AAA. He's guaranteed his MLB salary. |
