| National League or American? |
|
I am having a debate with somebody over which is better baseball, the national league or american league. Now I know there are better teams in the american league, one being my cleveland indians. Im a diehard indians fan, but the style of baseball is way better in the national league. More manufacturing of runs, no freakin DH, more small ball, the national league plays the game the way it was supposed to be played, not like the softball league, oops i mean american |

The national league is much better solely because of the designated hitter. Pitchers hitting is part of the game and makes the job of managing actually mean something. Rather that writing a lineup card like in the AL and then seeing what happens, NL managers actually have to consider pinch hitting, double switches, etc. Working around the pitcher's spot in the lineup is part of baseball and it's terrible the AL has a designated hitter. |

I prefer the NL...go Astros! I'm still trying to figure out the differences between the two. What exactly are the differences? I know the DH, but what else. Rules are rules regardless of league. The strike zone is different but I don't know how or why. Bottom line is - these guys are the best baseball players around. The name of the game is to get hits and score runs and if a pitcher does his job right, then it shouldn't matter what league he's in; he'll shut down any batter. BTW I hate the DH. A pitcher is a position, make him hit like the rest of the positions have to. the national league is better go astros the american because the DH. take a player like Frank Thomas. he needs to be a DH because hes to slow to play anything besides first base Favourite team is in the AL but the NL is way better because of pitchers hitting. I hate the DH. It was suppose to be an experiment when they incorporated it..guess it's staying! the AL is way better leauge its much more excited to watch because they can aculty score runs. plus pitchers can't bat and thats boring plus the al has the red sox, yankees DH is not baseball. Having pitchers hit is the most retarded, moronic, unexciting thing left in baseball. The only reason the NL owners have not voted to implement the DH is because they do not want to pay a DH salary which would be millions of dollars. in terms of style of play, National League, hands down. How many years in a row has the American League dominated the National League? Honestly, fans don't care about fundamentals any more, it's all about the long ball, so I give the American League the nod on this one. The National League the batting is worse, but it is amazing to see a pitcher bat and the hits a homerun Nothing to debate. The AL rules! Just look at the past All-Star game results. AL is of course the best. They have all the pitching, while NL is nothing. NL can only throw fast balls, and that is why pitchers do bad when they come to the AL. It may seem to some people that their pitching is doing fine, but NL pitchers look a little better when they get about 2 automatic outs a game by pitching to opposing pitchers. the NL is classy unlike he AL. period. Please. The AL is so much better. DH is absolutely part of the game. Pitcher's don't give you a chance in the late innings and who wants to take a Tom Glavine out of the game in the 7th inning of a tied game. Plus, AL always beets the NL in the All Star Game. They just have more talent. al is better now but since trades are happening the scale might change. First of all, good question. The question really isn't about NL or AL it's about the DH. Well here's my answer. national all the way |
