| If Yankees fans Love Yankee Stadium So Much Why Didn't They do all/anything they could to save the stadium ??? |

Since when do the fans have anything to say about what George Stienbrenner does? And while I'm at it, what's your problem with Yankee fans? I can read your crappy attitude into your question. |

Well, because the new stadium is going to be much better and fans are still going to support them no matter where they move. Politics...I was told when I went on the Yankee Stadium tour that the stadium will be torn down quickly and turned into park space to replace the space the new stadium will occupy. They couldn't have done anything about it anyway. George saw an oppurtunity to make even more money by putting in a bunch of luxury boxes that he can sell for a few thousand bucks a seat. I'm not a Yankee fan, but I hope they put bleacher seats in the outfield at the new park. I've only been to one game their, but the taunting between the bleachers and the box seats was great. Attempts were made, but the highers up attempting were happy enough that King George decided to stay in the Bronx and not go to Manahattan or the Meadowlands. On occasion, pieces of the stadium have fallen and landed on seats. Luckily there was never a game when it happened. It would cost more to renovate a renovated stadium than to make a brand new one with all the specs laid out starting from scratch accordingly. I'm a diehard Yankee fan going there since 1981 and will cry when I see it go, but it lived an amazing historic life. Kinda like grandparents. You know their time will come, but just think of all the good memories with them. I'm upset to see it go, but that's life and I understand. we'll i heard the old Yankee stadium will still stand were it's at and wont be torn down it will be used as a sport's museum and a sport's facility for youth's they are not owners While Yankee stadium is a wonderful historic monument---have you been there lately? it's not in the greatest shape in certain areas despite trying to keep up. Plus Steindaddy saw a chance to make some more money, add to his legacy and in all honesty it really needed to be done. If he were to move the team drastically far away that would be on thing, but it's going to be as close as possible without building over the current stadium and is going to incorporate the same general design and look so it won't be all that drastic. While saving and 80+ year old staddium that hasn't had a serious facelift in 30+ years may seem romantic, it's just not logical or economical. I'm a yankee fan, go to about 2 dozen games a year and really haven't heard anyone bellyaching about the new stadium so I'm guessing it's a serious minority that's all broken up about it. bcuz their yanks & they SUCK!!!!!!!!!!! What Steinbrenner wants, he gets |
