Hall of famer?

Do you think Roy Halladay and Torii Hunter will
be HOF's

Do u think roy halladay's career statistics
would have been way different if he started
his career in 1930's when there were no 5 man
rotations and pitch counts? i mean that guy can still
pitch two complete games on the same day.

No, he wouldn't have been pitching two complete games on the same day--that was well before the 30s and it was rare then.

Halladay is 30 with 109 wins, so his odds of making it on number of wins is not good.
He鈥檚 got a great winning percentage of 67.3 and a Cy Young along with a 3rd place finish there.
He鈥檚 about half way there on Black Ink, Grey Ink, HOF monitor, and HOF standards tests.
However, NONE of the pitchers most similar to him鈥攐verall, through age 29, or year by year鈥攁re in the Hall. That is troubling.

It will really depend on how long he keeps pitching at a high level. However, he averages 16 wins per 162 game season鈥攇ive him say 7 more years of averaging that, and he still only has 211 wins. His case looks very doubtful. (And keep in mind that his competition among pitchers when he retires will most likely include people like Johann Santana, Brandon Webb, Roy Oswalt, Carlos Zambrano, and Tim Hudson, all of whom have a better ERA+ than he does.)

Torii Hunter I love as a player, as the Twins are my AL club. But he is only 4% better than league average on offense and has never led the league in anything as a hitter. He鈥檚 got a lot of Gold Gloves, but outfielders don鈥檛 generally make the Hall on Defense. He鈥檚 a good HR hitter, but he鈥檚 only gone over 30 once so far and is under 200 for his career right now. He鈥檚 never scored 100 runs in a season and driven in over 100 only once, and while All-Star appearances can be bogus he still only has two. I think voters will look at those numbers. Finally, his competition is likely to include Ichiro, Vlad G., Jim Edmonds, Manny Ramirez, etc. I think he was and is a great player. But I don鈥檛 see him making the Hall.

i dont think either one will end up in the hall of fame
only if halladay stays healthy and wins one or two more cy youngs

they'll both be hall of famers one day.

as a twins fan, i hope hunter will make it.
maybe in 2050 the old timers will vote him in

halladay yes but hunter is a great player but not a good enough hitter

neither one will make the hall. the best thing Halladay is win the Cy Young. That is great but not good enough. He didn't win a world series and is white. people only vote for blacks because if you dont vote for a black person ull be laying on the corner of broad st with a bullet wound through your neck. On the other hand Hunter will make it because he is black.

Only one that has a shot would be Halladay, but he needs to remain healthy for the rest of his career to put up the numbers...

i think hunter will b.c look at some of the guys in the hall of fame now for defense... brooks robinson, bill mazerowski, ozzie smith i mean he will play another good 7 years and if he wins it 5 gold gloves in that span he will have 11 but he will have to get at least 150 hits and bat .275 every year
