Do the MLB playoff game stats count as regular season statistics?

Tonight SD plays Colorado in the NL playoff game. I wonder if stats of this game will add on to the other 162 games played by each team.

YES.

The people that are saying no need to do some research before answering.

Case in point:

Matt Holliday is hitting .340 this year, Chipper Jones finished at .337. If Holliday goes 0-5 tonight, Jones wins the batting title.

A one-game playoff game for the wild card spot most certainly counts on season stats.

EDIT: "One game playoffs are currently used in Major League Baseball (MLB). While the American League has always used the one-game playoff, the National League used a three-game playoff until 1969. There have been seven one-game playoffs and four three-game playoffs in baseball history. They are officially considered part of the regular season and are included in the standings. The player stats are included in the regular-season stats."

.

yes this one does but the other playoff games are different

Yes, this game does count for stats but the real post season games like the NLDS and ALDS and NLCS and ALCS and World series do not count.

Yes it does, while watching Baseball Tonight, last night, they said it will affect the season stats. Meaning that Matt Holliday at 135 RBI could overtake Howard at 136 RBI's. Also their is potential to lose the batting title if he struggles. So it does count for regular season stats

THE ANSWER IS YES!!!

Consider the Padres-Rockies playoff game like extra innings on the season. Do the stats add to regular season totals? Yes, absolutely. It was true in 1946, 1948, 1951, 1959, 1962, 1978, 1980, 1995, 1998, 1999, and it'll be true tonight in 2007. If Peavy gets the W, that's #20 for him.

This is not a postseason game. Those are tallied separately. This is an extension of the season, since the question of which team gets the NL wildcard berth was not resolved. As with a tie at the end of the ninth, they keep playing until they have an answer.
